Give to the Max Day

Support ArtStart on Give to the Max Day!

Thank you for being part of ArtStart’s community!
Please join us on November 14, 2019 for Give to the Max Day and help us provide arts education that inspires children and adults to become stewards for our earth. With your help, we can reach our goal of raising $5000!

Your donation supports our diverse and creative programs for preschoolers through adults. You help us give access to classes and camps to all students through our scholarship program. With your donation, you’ll help a child experience environmental and cultural exploration and learning through the arts!

What is new this year and why does your gift matter?
ArtStart has received a $2,500 match provided by individuals. This means that for every dollar you donate, your contribution will double!

And, with your generous donation, ArtStart can:
1. Continue offering all of our diverse and creative programs for preschoolers through adults.
2. Provide scholarships to underserved students and schools.
3. Support our unique program model that connects the arts, diverse cultures, and environmental learning.

How we’ve served the community this year
Through our school residencies and arts camps for youth throughout the year, and ArtStart’s ArtScraps Creative Materials Reuse and Idea Center, we’ve had many opportunities to see young people grow into brilliant, critical and creative thinkers who are ready to look at the world in new ways and create positive changes.

  • 4,000 students grades K-12 participated in ecoarts and cultural residencies in 15 urban Twin Cities schools and 1 rural school.
  • 52 artists representing diverse cultures and art forms were employed in school residencies or community workshops.
  • 20,000 youth of all ages and adults participated in our community workshops creating art in local libraries, community centers, nature centers, daycares, and at festivals.
  • 350 youth ages 4-16 years explored the arts, culture and environment of Mexico in our summer culture arts program taught by artists from Los Alegres Bailadores dance troupe, Little Coyote Puppet Theatre, and visual artists from the Latinx community.
  • 40 classroom teachers and specialists participated in our educator workshops “We All Live Down Stream”, an arts-based watershed stewardship project.
  • 60,500 pounds of materials destined for the waste stream were processed ArtStart’s ArtScraps Creative Materials Reuse and Idea Center.
  • 6,000 individuals shopped at ArtStart’s ArtScraps—from artists to educators to families—and reused materials in creative projects.
